Daniel Radcliffe and his Harry Potter costars spoke to the Watford Observer about the decision to make Leavesden Studios into an official Warner Bros studio lot now that the Harry Potter films have completed.

“The three of us have spent the last ten years of our lives at Leavesden Studios. To suddenly see it as the centre of all this attention is amazing.

“It is an amazing resource in this country for tens of thousands of incredibly talented writers and producers, filmmakers and actors. Warner Brothers has done a huge amount to release that talent into the world.”

Warner Bros have released extensive production notes on the making of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, with numerous quotes from Dan about some of the themes and dark settings of the penultimate movie. The full set of production notes can be read here.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the title role of Harry Potter, offers, "The intricacy of the plot Jo had mapped out from the beginning is a fantastic feat of storytelling. It has twists and turns, mystery and romance, comedy and action...all the brilliant things people have responded to over the years. It was the only way we could tell the story in a complete and fulfilling way."

Radcliffe attests, "I think it gives the film a more adult tone because it's harder to see us as school kids when we're no longer at school."

Radcliffe observes, "What's great about the story is the complexity of good versus evil. It isn't always a clear split between the characters. Even Harry is obviously connected to Voldemort, so there are people we have always seen as evil who have good in them and good people who are seriously flawed."
