Producer Simon Oakes spoke to MovieWeb at the San Diego Comic-Con about casting actor Daniel Radcliffe as the lead in the forthcoming film the Woman in Black. Oakes notes that Dan will be featured in almost every scene, and that production will last for nine weeks this fall. That can be viewed here. Daniel is an incredibly smart guy. Like any young man whose been in films since he was 10 years of age, he’s got an incredible understanding of the vernacular of filmmaking. He read the script and 24 hours later he pretty much said he would do this next. It’s a huge challenge for him. He’s almost in every scene. It’s a nine week shoot. It doesn’t have the infrastructure around it like the Warners do with Potter, but I think he’s got the smarts, intelligence and insight to deliver very, very well. He’s a really, really smart kid. So, I’m very, very happy with it. And obviously very happy for Hammer that we’ve got somebody so recognized.
