A new interview with Daniel Radcliffe is in the Guardian Weekend magazine is online with lots of new quotes! Radcliffe considered celebrating his legal majority when he turned 18 in July 2007 by buying a sensible car like a Toyota Prius or a Golf GTI. Instead he decided to invest in art, falling for a blue ink drawing on white paper, called Mona D, Mary and Me, by the New York-based conceptual artist Jim Hodges. "The dealer said they wanted to sell it to a more prestigious collector and Jim got word of this," Radcliffe said. "Turns out he's a massive Harry Potter fan and insisted they sell it to me. "Ever since then I've been really good friends with Jim and his best mate, Tim, a photographer. And they are two gay guys, artists, in New York, and they introduced me to these amazing, crazy, mad, weird, extraordinary people. I was immediately embraced by the New York tranny community."

Actor Daniel Radcliffe, director David Yates, and producer David Heyman break down the intricate plot points of Half-Blood Prince in a new interview. Dan and Heyman discuss how much Harry's knowledge and experience of the wizarding world has been furthered from the first to the sixth book: "For me, the Harry Potter films have always been about a loss of innocence," says Daniel Radcliffe, the actor behind the title character, who can perhaps no longer be called the boy wizard. "When Harry came into this world, it was all just amazing and brilliant and kind of pure. But as the films have gone on, that's totally disintegrated, and he's realizing that the wizarding world has just as many, if not more, challenges than the world he grew up in before." "In the last film, we were watching Harry at a difficult stage—tormented by dreams, questioning himself and beset by personal demons. Now he's a year older and that brings a different set of issues and responsibilities."

In a new interview with the Sunday Morning Herald, Daniel Radcliffe spoke about what draws fans to Harry Potter, the themes of the book series, Harry's relationship with Dumbledore in Half-Blood Prince, and more. An unmarked version of one of Dan's photos with Dennys Ilic was attached to the article, which can be seen here, courtesy of Snitch Seeker.
On how Potter lures so many fans, Dan stated: "I think for younger kids, it's the magic that draws them in," Radcliffe says. "But what sustains them - and where I think Jo [Rowling] is brilliant - is that she makes it mundane. It's household chore magic, which leaves room for the characters." "It's a bit like Withnail & I," he adds with a grin. "With Withnail & I, every year there is a group of students introducing the next lot to that film."
